Dear Friends,

This is a time of unprecedented challenges for our community. As we struggle with a financial crisis that threatens to send our great city and nation into a depression, the 36th Council District of Brooklyn must continue to be a staple of Central Brooklyn, a place where dreams are forged, and challenges are overcome with a commitment to innovation, diversity, and progress.

Now more than ever, our community needs leaders with the understanding to guide us into the future, the wisdom to improve the mental, physical, and financial health of the people, and the unwavering conviction to be a voice of change for the voiceless, a voice of change for the forgotten, the real voice of change in action. This is the mission driving my campaign.

As the credit crisis impacts our community in the form of lost jobs and lost property value, we must return to that core value that have driven this community for decades, that has always kept us strong: putting people first. That means giving our community businesses the chance to expand and succeed. That means ensuring our children have the skills they need to compete in the future. That means doing everything we can as a community not just to get by, but also to make sure we stand ahead.

The small businesses of this community have been, and will continue to be the engine driving our economy. We can only be successful as a district if we ensure that they along with all of the hard working citizens of this community have a voice of real change in the City Council representing this great 36th Council District.

I definitely believe that the best way to create greater opportunity for the citizens of the 36th Council District is by committing ourselves to government that is dynamic, transparent and responsive. Government that is change in action! Know, as your Councilman I will engage in an intellectual battle that ensures the voice of this community will resonate in the halls of democracy. Visualize the future you wish to see; and, I will work tirelessly to ensure that prosperity is extended to all who seek it.

I'm not only a lifelong New Yorker, but I'm a loving husband, and a proud father of six with a definite stake in the successful future of this community. I've got a deep connection to this district and a clear understanding of the homeowners, business owners, and hardworking families of this community; their hopes, their dreams and their daily struggles.

As our new world unfolds let us; our community, the 36th Council District of Brooklyn take our rightful position of leadership and author the script. Let us not wait for our voices to be heard; but rather, let us be the voice that others desire to hear, the example that others seek to emulate, and the standard by which others are measured.
